Unitarian Universalist History Course Designed for seminarians, individuals seriously considering the ministry, and now for members of the Unitarian Universalist Church in Livermore, this highly praised course, developed by Dr. Forsey, has been taught by her for nine years. Learn the theological shifts throughout Unitarian and Universalist history. The controversies between the liberal and the orthodox points of view determined the course of Unitarianism and Universalism over the centuries. Important figures in shaping the history will be highlighted, as well as those who are missing from our texts. The short course is designed for members of congregations Dr. Forsey serves, and is intended to increase awareness of Unitarian and Unitarian Universalist history, help to create an opportunity for members to get to know each other and provide a forum for Unitarians and Unitarian Universalists who simply love learning. The short version of the course is not graded and there are no papers due. However, everyone in the class is expected to read as much of the material as possible, post a page or less once a week on responses to what is read and respond to the postings of one or two colleagues in the class once a week. Postings may be as brief as one paragraph, especially when responding to a posting of another student. To register, as well as to indicate your agreement that you will not copy or distribute the material (aside from one copy for yourself if you have difficulty reading online text) and to promise that you will not give the code to the course to anyone else, log on using the codes that Dr. Forsey will be sending you this week and introduce yourself. Your introduction is your agreement to keep to these requests.
